HDG wire is processed from iron wire / carbon steel wire through hot dip zinc bathing process. The zinc bathed galvanized wire enjoy excellent rust-proof, flexibility and softness. Suitable for binding and further processing into various fencing and mesh products. Major zinc coating quality can be 100g/m2, 200g/m2 and 300g/m2. Feb 26, 2002This reaction creates a variety of zinc-iron alloys resembling needle-like crystals that form on the surface of the steel. With traditional galvanized coatings, the alloy layer constitutes about 80% of the coating, while zinc makes up the outer 20%. This surface layer gives a lustrous appearance to galvanized coatings. Nov 18, 2010From my experience a G30 coating is an extremely light coating for a hot dip process. At least in the USA, it's difficult for any hot dip process to produce a G30 coating. Some vendors would sell you a G60, in place of a G30. You would have more zinc coating than is necessary. However, JIS standards may specify a min and max coating weight.Hot Dipped Galvanized Iron Wire High Carbon ACSR hot dipped galvanized steel pipe with 300g m2 zinc coatingThe zinc coating can be 100g/m2, 200g/m2 and 300g/m2. Hot dip galvanizing is used as a very effective steel corrosion protection method, providing a long service-life. The corrosion protection is dependent on the coating thickness and environmental conditions (ASM Handbook, 1994). Zinc coated components are also used to give a good appearance to the constructions.Preparing Hot-Dip Galvanized Steel for Painting or Powder hot dipped galvanized steel pipe with 300g m2 zinc coatingFor additional information on preparing after-fabrication hot-dip galvanized steel surfaces for duplex coatings, consult ASTM D 6386, Practice for Preparation of Zinc (Hot-Dip Galvanized) Coated Iron and Steel Product and Hardware Surfaces for Painting. The continuous hot-dip galvanizing process offers a wide protection between the coating and the steel. These properties make zinc coatings well suitable to forming and demanding corrosive atmospheres. Because of the nature of the zinc, the coating provides corrosion protection for Types of Galvanizing and other Zinc CoatingsZinc coatings are applied to steel surfaces by hot dip galvanizing, electroplating, sherardising, mechanical plating, painting with zinc-rich coatings and zinc spraying (metallising). Of these, the HDG process is by far the most widely used. Following is a brief explanation of each type of zinc coating. The figure below shows the typical relative thickness of each coating.Zinc and Steel in Contact in a Galvanized System hot dipped galvanized steel pipe with 300g m2 zinc coatingJan 05, 2011The concern with having dissimilar metals in contact is the anodic metal will be consumed when electrons transfer from that material to the cathodic metal when there is a corrosion cell. This is considered galvanic corrosion, and over time it depletes the anodic metal. The hot-dip galvanized coating uses this property advantageously to protect the underlying steel.
